Carmen apartment is a three bedroomed
apartment in the centre of the old town, sleeping up to 6 guests.
The large
lounge/dining room is light and airy and this gives visitors a good place to relax
after visiting the sites of Barcelona. There is a natural refreshing flow of fresh
air coming in from the double balcony. The room has an area near the television
with a 3 seater sofa and armchair and an area near the balcony with the dining
table. The dining table seats 4 or comfortably seats 6 people if expanded, it
doubles in size.
The stereo colour TV has the 'dual' function so some
films/programmes can be watched in English, it also has text. A Philips Hi-Fi
is also provided. The lounge has the benefit of being above a quiet road which
essentially has no traffic.
The fully equipped kitchen provides all the
facilities needed for a group of 6 to self cater. With large fridge/freezer, electric
oven, 4 gas hobs, Kenwood electric toaster with croissant warmer, electric kettle,
large T-pot, coffee percolator, pots/pans/plates/bowls/cutlery etc. As the photos
shows there is the advantage of lots of cupboard space.
The bathroom
has a great shower, toilet, sink with large mirror (for very tall and short people/youngsters),
hairdryer and a washing machine. Instant Hot Water. The water for the shower is
heated as you use it so even with 6 people no-one ever has to wait for the water
in a storeage tank to be heated up. Some systems run out of hot water after 2
or 3 showers.
Bedroom with Balcony
This lovely bedroom has
an extra wide (150cm) new double bed which has a beautiful view directly from
the bed to the XIII century church of St. Llatzer.
The enormous double wardrobe
offers spacious storeage space for a couple with effectively a wardrobe each to
use. And the balcony provides good ventilation for comfortable sleeping at night.
A stereo radio/cassette/CD player is provided.
Bedroom A
This
bedroom has a raised single bed with pine finish and a second single bed. By the
raised bed are 2 platforms for items like the stereo radio/cassette player provided
in this room, fan, alarm clock, books, clothes etc. There is a new wardrobe (blue)
with lots of hanging space and deep shelves.
Bedroom B
Like
bedroom A this also has a raised bed with pine finish and a normal single bed.
A platform by the raised bed is also provided for fan and personal items. For
clothes etc a wardrobe and 2 storeage units are provided.
In bedrooms
A and B the room light can be switched off/on from the raised bed, also from the
door switch.
Roof
The massive roof is a great place to catch
some sun or for a quiet drink as the sun goes down. From the roof you can see
many sights of Barcelona such as the cable cars, the Palau Nacional at Montjuic,
the Cathedral spire, and even Columbus on his column in the Rambla. To avoid disturbing
the flats below the roof it is only for quiet daytime use. |

The
flat is in a great location being only 4 minutes flat walk from the Rambla. The
flat is above a small street with no traffic in a quiet location yet also very
close the Rambla and the Cathedral etc. There is a bus every 6-10 minutes to the
beach at Barceloneta; so you can be near the Rambla and the nightlife yet just
a short bus trip from the beach ! As a neighbourhood it has lots of local people
around and lots of local type shops, cafes, bars and is a more relaxed area to
stay than the area with the crowds near the Rambla.
