BARCELONA TOURS - Cooking in Catalonia

INTRODUCTION
Arrive in Barcelona, one of the most renowned and interesting cities in Europe and, no doubt, one of the main culinary capitals in theMediterranean area. You will have time to rest there but also to walk about the Ramblas, the old Gothic Quarter and its monuments, the old and new harbors and the surprising rehabilitation project of the shoreline in a Mediterranean town, Gaudí and his extraordinary architectural creations..., and for those fond of painting, visits to Picasso and Miró museums. Combined with these visits, you will be introduced to culinary
Barcelona: the famous market of "La Boquería", the traditional cake shops along the Ramblas, the charcuteries and cheese shops and, of course, the old delicatessen where "cava" is treasured. Too much to see in a single day, so you will have one more day and night in Barcelona at the end of the journey.

The rest of the cooking holidays you will stay and be taught in one of the numerous "masias" (traditional rural house in Catalonia) of the region, converted into a charming and comfortable small hotel close to both the coast and the Pyrenees in a unique combination of mountain and coastal scenery.

In addition to dining at the world famous El Bulli (whose chef Ferran Adriá has been recently acclaimed as the best chef in the world), we will organize a series of morning cooking classes during four days, to bring you up on the avant-garde cuisine of Catalonia as well as on the most traditional recipes - from vegetable dishes, to fideuà, from cod dishes to the numerous exotic treatments of Mediterranean seafood.

Naturally, being less than an hour away from several houses and exhibits of Dali (Figueres, Cadaqués…), you will have enough time to explore them coupled with culinary visits to "almazaras " (olive oil mills), traditional bakeries, internationally reputed cava wineries, etc.
